# We added branding options for each entity’s VSME report

> Branding is included for every account. There is no extra price and nothing to switch on.

We have added report branding in ESGDO. Each legal entity can now have its own logo, its own cover and two module colors. Every VSME report for that company uses them. Accountants who prepare reports for several clients from one account can give each client its own cover. The disclosures do not change.

This update is only the branding. For the reporting steps, use [how to prepare an ESG report for an SME](https://esgdo.com/tutorial/how-to-prepare-esg-report-sme). For a finished file, see the [sample VSME report](https://esgdo.com/sample-vsme-report).

## Where to open branding

Open Entities under Account management. On the row for the company, choose Branding. The window is titled Report branding.

The account owner and an admin can open Branding. An editor who only fills in reports does not see the Entities list.

Nothing new is stored until you press Save. There is one exception. If a logo or a cover is already stored, Remove deletes that file immediately. Closing the window does not restore the deleted file.

## Six cover templates

| The cover block sits under the company logo. It is closed when the window opens. The closed row shows a small picture, the label Cover template, the template name and the words Click to expand. Six templates appear, in this order. Arc is the default. It is the ESGDO cover. The others are Spine, Ribbons, Hexagons, Contour lines and Circles. Click the picture to select a template. A violet frame marks the choice. Both module colors change to the pair that belongs to that cover. You can edit the colors after that. Click See preview to open a preview of the first page. See preview does not select the template and does not change the colors. The preview shows the logo, the entity name, the report title, the period, the basis, today’s preparation date, the status and the completion percent when a report already exists. If the entity has no report yet, the preview uses a sample previous year and says so. | | |

## Module colors

| The heading is Module colors (overrides templates). There are two color fields. The Basic module field sets the color of the basic section headings and of the table headers that use that color. The Comprehensive module field does the same for the comprehensive headings. The cover title uses a lighter version of the Basic color. The text on those headers is white. When you save, both colors are checked automatically. The check compares each color with the white text. If a color is too light, it is not saved. You see a notice on that color. The notice says the color is too light for white text on table headers. It asks you to choose a darker shade. Get colors reads a company website and suggests colors for those two color fields only. You may type the address without https. The address is not stored. The notice asks you to save if you want to keep the suggestion. If the page cannot be read, or if it has no usable brand color, the colors you already had stay in place. If only one usable color is found, the other color field stays as it was. Reset default restores the color pair of the selected cover. It does not change which cover is selected. It does not remove an uploaded image. | | |

## Your own cover

Under Covers (overrides templates), Upload your own replaces the selected template on the PDF. That file is the main cover. The report uses it for the front cover and for every section that has no image. The upload does not change the module colors. Remove the file and the report returns to the selected template. If no template was chosen, the report returns to Arc.

Accepted files are JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB. The company logo is separate. It is PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP or SVG, up to 5 MB. The logo is shown on the cover.

Section covers are optional and start closed. The four slots are General, Environmental, Social and Governance. If no images are uploaded, the report uses the selected template. An image uploaded for a section is used for that section. A section that has no image uses the main cover image when one was uploaded. If no main cover image was uploaded, that section uses the selected template.

We store the branding on the entity. Preview and the PDF download both use the same logo, the same cover and the same colors for every report of that company.

## FAQ

Does branding cost extra?

No. It is included for every account. There is no additional price and no condition to turn it on.

Where do I set the cover and the colors?

On the Entities list, use Branding on that company’s row. The entity form does not contain the logo or the cover. Press Save in the branding window to keep the choice.

Does a new cover change the module colors?

Yes, when you click the picture. Both color fields use the color pair of that cover. See preview does not change the colors. You can change the colors after the selection. The label says the colors override the template.

What happens if a chosen color is too light?

Both colors are checked automatically when you save. The check compares each color with the white text. If a color is too light, it is not saved. You see a notice that asks you to choose a darker shade.

Can I upload my own cover?

Yes. Upload your own replaces the template image on the report. It does not change the two module colors. Optional section images exist for General, Environmental, Social and Governance. If no images are uploaded, the report uses the selected template. An image uploaded for a section is used for that section. A section that has no image uses the main cover image when one was uploaded. If no main cover image was uploaded, that section uses the selected template.

Who can open Branding?

The account owner and an admin can open Branding from the Entities list. An editor who only works on reports does not see that list. Branding applies to every report of the entity, not to a single reporting period.
